The following are ways ministries have helped us, any one of which benefits our kids in mind, body and spirit.
Add our kids and their families to your prayer lists at church, and remember them as you pray. Ask your fellow congregants and community members how you can have important conversations about mental health in your own congregation (especially with youth) and community. We can support you in this endeavor; please do not hesitate to reach out.
Share your talents in any way you are led to provide. This can include music, devotionals, games, dramas, snacks – the list is nearly endless. Spirituality services can be customized to match your mission, gifts and talents. Hospitality also is one of the values of any community of faith, and it is especially meaningful when children are separated from their families
Visit our Spirituality Services page for more information and ideas.
Donate to the Rev. Robert Regnier Memorial Summer Camp at Camp Tanako on Lake Catherine, which we utilize for kids in our therapeutic group homes every summer.
A gift of a paperback Bible and spiritual study guides are waiting for
every child, teen and mother who enters the Methodist Family Health statewide continuum of care. These books are made possible by our Children’s Bible Fund, which is an integral part of our spirituality program.
Visit our Bible Bounty page for a list of Bibles and guides, as well as more information on our Children’s Bible Fund.
Organize your church to provide a pancake breakfast, chili cook-off or grill hot dogs for a picnic for any of the kids in our care. The Arkansas children and families in our programs LOVE all-you-can-eat buffets, and they will be refreshed in spirit knowing others care for them.
Every unit at Methodist Behavioral Hospital in Maumelle, at a therapeutic group home in your community, or a cottage at Arkansas CARES can use donated supplies to make the patients’ stays more comfortable. For the health and safety of the Arkansas children and families in our care, we ask all items donated are new.
Items always needed include:
However you choose to give, please know you are helping Arkansas children and their families build a spiritual foundation.
